Hours of operation and holidays: The dojo (training hall) is open from Monday to Saturday. The dojo is closed on all major holidays. It is also closed when club activities take place away from the school, such as tournaments, summer camp, and special winter training. When in doubt, call the office at (609) 888-0093.

Dues: Monthly training dues will be paid by the seventh day of each month unless the student is on a leave of absence (see below). A large part of training is to develop a sense of responsibility and care for the dojo. Therefore, dues must be paid on time. Should a check be returned to use because of insufficient funds, a fee of $10.00 or more will be charged to cover the penalty applied by the banks.

Training: Karateka (karate student) must arrive at the dojo 15 minutes prior to the start of each class and always be on time. Parents must come promptly at the end of their children's classes to pick them up.

Examinations: Karateka advance in rank by taking periodic examinations that are scheduled approximately every three months. An examination application must be filled out, and the examination fee must be paid in advance.

Ranking: All karateka have rank. There are ten Kyu ranks that progress from 10 Kyu to 1 Kyu. A new student has the rank of 10 Kyu and is a white belt; 9-8 Kyu is a purple belt, 7-5 Kyu is a is a green belt, 4 Kyu is a blue belt, and 3-1 Kyu is a brown belt. When a karateka reaches 1 Kyu, he/she becomes eligible for the black belt test.

Leave of absence: To be considered and to qualify for a leave of absence, a written request must be submitted to the office. The request must state the following: reason for leave of absence, definite starting date of leave, and the approximate length of leave. A request for leave of absence no less than one month for adults and no less than two weeks for children will be given.

Mid-Atlantic Karate Association: Karateka must maintain their annual membership in the JKA affiliate, the Mid-Atlantic Karate Association. The association fee is $10.00 per year payable at the karateka's anniversary date.
